SUBJECT LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completing the course and confirming the achievement of the assumed learning outcomes, the student:
- Knows skincare treatments suitable for all skin types.
- Knows the techniques of classical massage of the face, neck, neckline, hands, and feet.
- Knows hand, nail, and foot care treatments.
- Knows cosmetic preparations and their proper use in facial, neck, neckline, eye area, hand, and foot care treatments.
- Knows the indications and contraindications for care treatments of the face, neck, neckline, eye area, hands, and feet.
- Discusses the principles of hygiene and safety in performing treatment procedures and the use of disinfection solutions.
- Is able to properly perform appropriate facial, neck, neckline, eye area, hand, and foot care, taking into account the indications and contraindications.
- Is able to use specialized equipment when performing facial, neck, neckline, eye area, hand, and foot care procedures, taking into account health and safety rules, methodology, indications, and contraindications.
- Is able to explain to the client the choice of cosmetological procedures appropriate to their needs.
- Is able to provide advice on the use of cosmetics to improve the condition of the skin on the face, hands, and feet.
- Can properly conduct a cosmetic interview and complete the client chart.
- Is willing to be respectful and provide the client with full mental and physical comfort while performing treatments on the face, neck, neckline, eye area, hands, and feet.
- Is willing to work with a dermatologist or podiatrist to solve the client's problems.
- Is ready to formulate opinions regarding the client based on the analysis and synthesis obtained during the cosmetology interview.
PROGRAM CONTENT RELATED TO LEARNING OUTCOMES (including self-study).
Lecture:
1. Skin types. Skincare, recommendations and prohibitions for all skin types.
2. Types of makeup remover products. Types of scrubs, masks, clays, ampoules and serums.
3. Active substances used in skincare cosmetics.
4. Cosmetic treatments for the face, hands and feet.
5. Muscles of the face and head in relation to the massage of the face, neck, neckline. Functions and impact of massage on tissues.
Laboratory:
1. Presentation of the regulations and health and safety rules of the skincare cosmetology laboratory.
2. Procedures for using disinfection solutions, ultrasonic cleaner, and autoclave.
3. Structure of the nail plate and defects of the upper limbs. Types of manicure, workstation, preparations, tools, and apparatus. Conducting a cosmetic interview. Indications, contraindications, treatment procedures for traditional and biological manicure, hand massage, and paraffin bath.
4. Shapes and defects of the lower limbs. Types of pedicure, workstation, conducting a cosmetic interview. Indications, contraindications, procedures for cosmetic, milling, therapeutic pedicure, foot massage, and paraffin bath for the foot.
5. Eye hygiene and diseases. Face shapes, selection of eyebrow shape suitable for face shape. Conducting a cosmetic interview. Determining the optimal eyebrow length. Allergy test. Workstation, preparations, tools, and apparatus. Indications, contraindications, technique for eye makeup removal. Procedure for powder henna on eyelashes, gel henna on eyebrows, and brow ridge adjustment.
6. Conducting a cosmetic interview before each technique performed during the procedure. Techniques, methods, and make-up removing products for face, neck, and neckline. Techniques for applying and washing off scrubs and masks. Skincare treatments dedicated to different skin types. Workstation, preparations, tools, and apparatus. Techniques for face, neck, and neckline massage. Kobido massage.
