Electrical drive systems ERASMUS>ELE05
The course provides ordered knowledge of electrical drive systems with power-electronic converters, emphasising both theoretical foundations and practical deployment. Students learn how to select, connect, commission and test basic and automated drive configurations, acquire static / dynamic characteristics, and interpret results for engineering applications. Coursework blends lectures, project design and laboratory sessions so that participants gain competence in configuring drive hardware, employing appropriate measurement techniques and recognising the importance of continual professional development in this rapidly evolving field.
Intended learning outcomes:
- Student possesses knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of applying and operating basic electrical drive systems as well as automated, complex drives with power-electronic converters.
- Student is able to design a simple drive system using suitable engineering methods, techniques and tools.
- Student can connect, start up and test the designed drive system, and carry out measurements of its static and dynamic characteristics.
- Student recognises the need for lifelong learning and is aware of opportunities to enhance professional, personal and social competences.
