Concrete structures II ERASMUS>BUD22
Aims of the Course:
To understand the behavior of concrete and reinforced concrete structures. To master calculation and dimensioning methods for key elements of simple engineering structures. To acquire knowledge of computational models and the principles of designing reinforced concrete sections using the limit state method. To develop the ability to assess the technical condition and load-bearing capacity of existing reinforced concrete structures.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Serviceability limit states: crack width and deflection checks using simplified methods recommended by the EC2 standard
2. Design of reinforced concrete elements for axial compression and punching shear
3. Overview of rules for shaping concrete cross-sections and placing reinforcement in slabs, beams, and columns
4. Reinforced concrete floors made from prefabricated ribbed and hollow-core slabs – non-composite and prestressed systems; selection criteria for prefabricated components
5. Composite reinforced concrete floors (e.g., Filigran type) – discussion of floor components, static schemes, and applications
6. Overview of closely ribbed floor systems; selection of appropriate static schemes (continuous beams, partially restrained beams)
7. Overview of main stair types – monolithic and precast slab stairs
8. Design of axially loaded spread footings using the simplified trapezoidal strut method
