Practical classes
This course addresses the use of health promotion definitions, activities, and methods to promote health among populations in the community, across age groups.
Learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE – A STUDENT KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS:
1. principles of health promotion and prevention,
2. principles of constructing health promotion programs,
3. strategies of health promotion of local, national and world range.
SKILLS – A STUDENT IS ABLE TO:
1. recognize determinants of patient's health behaviors and risk factors of diseases resulting from lifestyle,
2. select methods and forms of prevention and prophylaxis of diseases and shape health behaviours of various social groups,
3. teach the patient self-control of his/her health condition,
4. develop and implement individual health promotion programs for patients, families and social groups,
SOCIAL SKILLS – A STUDENT IS READY TO:
1. be guided by the best interests of the patient, respect the dignity and autonomy of those entrusted to their care, show understanding for differences in worldview and culture, and show empathy in relationships with patients and their families.
