Traces as a subject of chemical research ERASMUS>KRY11
After completing the course and confirming the achievement of the assumed learning outcomes, the student knows the basic laboratory equipment, the principles of laboratory work and calculations in chemical analysis. In addition, the student knows the rules of revealing and securing traces with the use of chemical substances, has elementary knowledge in the field of toxicology and forensic chemistry, and is able to use basic laboratory equipment and perform basic experiments and calculations in the field of chemical analysis.
Selected program content:
• Measuring the volume of liquids (glass and automatic pipettes), weighing, preparing solutions with a specific concentration.
• Titrimetric analysis as an example of a classical analytical technique (practical exercises, elaboration and analysis of results, comparison of results with reference values).
• General principles of disclosing and securing traces, Chemical substances used in revealing and securing dermatoscopic traces, post-gunshot traces, etc., analytics of cleaning materials.
• Elements of toxicology and forensic chemistry (poisons and poisonings, basic toxicological parameters, toxins of natural and synthetic origin, drugs and intoxicants).
