Renewable energy sources ERASMUS>ELE13
This course offers structured knowledge of the energy-conversion processes involved in generating electricity from renewable sources. Students examine the principles of harnessing solar, wind, hydro and biomass resources; the role and basic operation of auxiliary equipment; and the criteria for selecting, designing and operating small-scale renewable-energy systems under real environmental and legal constraints. Practical components develop skills in configuring, commissioning and maintaining RES installations while fostering an understanding of ecological responsibilities and the need for public pro-environmental education.
Intended learning outcomes:
- Student possesses ordered knowledge of the energy transformations that accompany electricity generation, the rules for producing energy from renewable sources, and the functions of auxiliary equipment used in these systems.
- Student is able to apply renewable-energy technologies in specific natural conditions and design a simple RES-powered supply system.
- Student can plan the operation and maintenance of devices that make up renewable-energy systems.
- Student is prepared to consider legal and ecological requirements related to renewable-energy generation and to promote pro-environmental education within society.
