Aims of the course:
1. to instill sensitivity and develop a pro-environmental attitude.
2. to make students aware of the fact that the protection of nature and the implementation of sustainable development is the responsibility of themselves and not only state institutions, so environmental protection begins at home and in the immediate environment, and ends at the international level.
Learning outcomes:
1. knows and understands the effects of engineering activities in social and economic aspects on the environment.
2. is able to operate selected conceptual categories and terminology of nature.
3. is able to acquire information from literature, databases and other sources and integrate it, has the ability to listen, is open to arguments of others.
4. is able to work individually and in a small team, is able to complete tasks given to him/her, keeps his/her commitments on time.
5. is able to work individually and in a small team, can complete tasks given to him/her, keeps his/her commitments on time
6. has the ability to self-educate in order to improve his/her professional and social competences.
7. is ready for continuous education and improvement of his/her professional and social competences and understands the need for constant updating of knowledge.
8. is ready to understand non-technical aspects and effects of engineering activity, including its influence on the environment and the related responsibility for making decisions. He/she demonstrates caution and criticism in accepting information available in mass media, having reference to the area at the junction of society - economy - environment.
9. is ready to take conscious responsibility for the implementation of the entrusted task as well as for jointly performed tasks related to teamwork (at every stage of the "decision path").
