Learning outcomes were approved by the Resolution no. VI/33/17 of the Senate of Stanisław Staszic State University of Applied Sciences in Piła (Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa im. Stanisława Staszica w Pile) of 26 January 2017 on the determining the description of assumed learning outcomes for long-cycle physiotherapy MA studies with a practical profile in the Institute of Health Care of the Stanisław Staszic State University of Applied Sciences in Piła.
KNOWLEDGE – a graduate knows and understands:
K_W01 the structure and development of cells, tissues, organs and the whole human body, basic physical properties of tissues, physical phenomena occurring in the body under the influence of external physical factors,
K_W02 the process of individual development from childhood, through maturity to old age,
K_W03 mechanism of origin, modulation and perception of pain,
K_W04 in detail anatomical structure and functioning of individual systems of the human body: nervous, circulatory, respiratory, excretory, endocrine, sensory organs and human locomotor system,
K_W05 metabolic processes at the cellular, organ, systemic levels including the phenomena of hormonal regulation of reproduction and ageing processes, can characterise these processes in detail,
K_W06 the biochemical mechanisms of functioning of the body and basic biochemical indicators and their changes as a result of certain diseases or physical exertion, is able to name and interpret these processes in a detail,
K_W07 in detail basic concepts in general psychology and psychomotor development, can define and interpret these concepts in the context of a physiotherapist’s profession, the knowledge of aspects of clinical psychology and psychotherapy methods,
K_W08 principles of medical first aid, recognises life-threatening conditions
K_W09 in detail basic knowledge in the area of health education, health promotion and prevention
K_W10 mechanisms of action of certain physical factors used in the rehabilitation process in disease entities, can appropriately interpret these processes

SKILLS – a graduate is able to:
K_U01 individually perform kinesitherapy, manual therapy, physical therapy and therapeutic massage procedures
K_U02 provide medical first aid
K_U03 use and operate devices and equipment for physical therapy, kinesitherapy and functional assessment,
K_U04 use various forms of activity in teaching movement and in planning and controlling the process of mastering motor skills
K_U05 interpret the knowledge in the area of pathological changes in various diseases and structural disorders caused by disease, trauma or other form of disability for the purposes of functional diagnostics and performing physiotherapy procedures
K_U06 indicate the background and explain the development of postural control, movement patterns, movement habits
K_U07 recognise and interpret basic psychological problems of a disabled person functioning in the society
K_U08 provide advice on lifestyle and management in the conditions of patient’s irreversible dysfunction or chronic disease
K_U09 correctly select diagnostic tests and functional tests for the purposes of physiotherapy for patients of all ages with various dysfunctions
K_U10 assess the functional condition of a patient necessary to program and control the physiotherapy process
K_U11 carry out biomechanical analysis in terms of simple and complex human movements in normal conditions and in various disorders of the locomotor system and of changes under internal and external loads of the body
K_U12 explain to the patients of various ages and with various dysfunctions what the dysfunction involves and present a programme of comprehensive rehabilitation
K_U13 perform physiotherapy procedures in persons with diseases and dysfunctions concerning various organs and systems – adequately for their clinical and functional condition

K_U15 use orthopaedic devices at every stage of rehabilitation and instruct and teach patients to use them
K_U16 differentiate and locate palpably and visually neuroreflexive changes in tissues
K_U17 co-operate with an interdisciplinary team ensuring continuity of patient care
K_U18 carry out kinesiological analysis of human movement acts in terms of the process of learning and teaching movements taking various aspects in consideration
K_U19 efficiently use ICT tools in text editing, statistical analysis, searching, collecting, filtering and processing information and data available in computer networks and databases, preparing a multi-media presentation
K_U20 control the effectiveness of a physiotherapy process and identify mistakes and omissions in the rehabilitation process
K_U21 comply with ethical principles and standards in his/her activity, recognise and analyse ethical dilemmas.

K_U23 consider and use forms of spa treatment in planning a rehabilitation programme
