Learning outcomes were approved by the Resolution No. XLIV/211/20 of the Senate of Stanisław Staszic State University of Applied Sciences in Piła (Państwowa Uczelnia Stanisława Staszica w Pile) of 30 January 2020 on the adoption of the curriculum for the first-cycle Criminalistics and Criminology programme with a practical profile at the Stanisław Staszic State University of Applied Sciences in Piła.

KNOWLEDGE – a graduate knows and understands:
K1P_W01 he/she knows and understands the place and significance of security studies in the system of science, their historical contexts and their possible reference to other fields of science,
K1P_W02 he/she knows elementary terminology used in social sciences with a particular consideration of security studies, criminalistics and criminology, understands its sources and application,
K1P_W03 he/she knows and understands the principles of operation of global and local security systems and institutions and knows the typology and categories of security,
K1P_W04 he/she knows and understands the role and tasks of security institutions in Poland,
K1P_W05 he/she knows the methods of analysis and interpretation of social phenomena, in the context of selected research theories and schools of fields and disciplines of science relevant for the field of study,
K1P_W06 he/she knows and understands the methods and tools of data protection and extraction used in the field of security studies, in particular in criminalistics and criminology in order to detect and eliminate threats of diverse nature,
K1P_W07 he/she knows and understands basic issues and regulations concerning various areas of law, including civil, family and guardianship, criminal law, and knows and understands basic concepts in the area of law and legislation,
K1P_W08 he/she knows and understands practical applications of the knowledge of social policy in the activities related to the field of study,
K1P_W09 he/she knows and understands the importance of social prevention and re-socialisation in identification and solving of problems associated with various forms of social pathology,
K1P_W10 he/she knows and understands basic legal regulations concerning the issues related to criminalistics and criminology, recognises their links with social practice,
K1P_W11 he/she knows the procedures related to behaviour in crisis situations and understands their reference to legal matters and principles of social coexistence,

SKILLS – a graduate is able to:

K1P_U01 he/she is able to search, select, identify and critically analyse sources and written and electronic information related to disciplines of science relevant to the field of study,
K1P_U02 he/she is able to diagnose and analyse the causes and course of social processes and phenomena which lead to exclusion and marginalisation of persons and social groups,
K1P_U03 using methods typical for disciplines of science relevant for the field of study he/she is able to examine, explain and predict determinants contributing to crime and other pathological phenomena, determining the state of public security,
K1P_U04 he/she is able to present in written and oral form the knowledge concerning the issues in the area of social sciences relevant for the field of study,
K1P_U05 he/she is able to use normative systems, including specialist procedures derived from disciplines of science relevant for the field of study, in order to address the issues related to the national and international security, including also in the aspect of phenomena of criminal and criminological nature,
K1P_U06 he/she is able to work individually, in a group and institutional structures on legal solutions and other projects related to detection and prevention of crime, shows the ability to plan this work,
K1P_U07 he/she is able to communicate in English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages,
K1P_U08 he/she is able to apply the rules of social communication in the process of working out decisions in the area of activities related to the field of study,
K1P_U09 he/she is able to detect relationships between individual social, cultural and economic processes of local and supra-local nature in the context of the prevention and detection of crime and other threats to public security,
K1P_U10 he/she is able to take action in crisis situations and make appropriate use of available techniques and tools, depending on the nature of the situation, based on formal authority and taking into consideration the scope of responsibilities arising from his/her professional role,
K1P_U11 he/she is able to use digital technologies and tools in the area of basic computer forensics,
K1P_U12 he/she is able to use specialist techniques and tools in the area of criminalistics to detect and identify crimes and their perpetrators,
K1P_U13 he/she is able to analyse various aspects of the functioning of the social environment, including in particular the family environment, in the context of the needs related to providing support in crisis situations,
K1P_U14 he/she is able to initiate and carry out both individually and community oriented legal, preventive and re-socialisation activities,
K1P_U15 he/she is able to practically apply the knowledge in the area of social communication and negotiations in order to prevent conflicts and address crisis situations,
K1P_U16 he/she is able to use the acquired knowledge and skills to provide personal security.
