Studia na kierunkufilologia otwierają wiele drzwi do kariery i dają możliwość różnych kierunków rozwoju. Program kształcenia oferuje z jednej strony intensywny kurs praktycznej znajomości języka angielskiego, a z drugiej strony ćwiczenia i wykłady m.in. z prezentowania publicznego, komunikacji wizerunkowej czy historii Wielkiej Brytanii i USA. W toku studiów znajdują się zajęcia dydaktyczne oraz praktyka zawodowa (która może być odbywana również za granicą).
Na program studiów składają się przedmioty ogólne (np. technologia informacyjna), podstawowe (np. praktyczna nauka języka angielskiego, gramatyka, pisanie), kierunkowe (np. fonetyka, kultura krajów anglojęzycznych, tłumaczenia), oraz specjalnościowe (np. prezentowanie publiczne, warsztaty kreatywności w biznesie, nowoczesne technologie w nauczaniu, język angielski specjalistyczny).
Kształcenie opiera się na rozbudowanym, sześciomiesięcznym systemie praktyk (obejmuje 960 godzin) i kładzie nacisk na rozwijanie praktycznych umiejętności studentów w trakcie zajęć o charakterze warsztatowym. Studenci poznają także drugi język obcy (niemiecki).
Rekrutacja na I rok studiów prowadzona jest na kierunek filologia. Po pierwszym semestrze studiów wybierane są specjalności spośród dwóch dostępnych do wyboru: lektor i tłumacz języka angielskiego lub język angielski w biznesie i zarządzaniu. Specjalności uruchomione są w przypadku zainteresowania przez określoną liczbę studentów.

Język angielski w biznesie i zarządzaniu
Specjalność język angielski w biznesie i zarządzaniu przygotowuje do pracy tłumacza języka angielskiego (zwłaszcza w zakresie języka biznesu) przygotowanego do pracy w środowisku wielokulturowym, korporacjach i instytucjach o zasięgu globalnym. Absolwent specjalności język angielski w biznesie i zarządzaniu posiada wiedzę, umiejętności i kompetencje społeczne niezbędne do wykonywania tłumaczeń ze szczególnym odniesieniem do tłumaczeń języka biznesu w firmach, instytucjach i organizacjach mających kontakty międzynarodowe.
Dzięki odbytym studiom i praktyce zawodowej absolwent swobodnie i płynnie (w mowie i piśmie) posługuje się językiem angielskim na poziomie biegłości co najmniej C1 według Europejskiego Systemu Opisu Kształcenia Językowego Rady Europy, posiada rozwinięte ustne i pisemne umiejętności komunikacyjne w zakresie języka angielskiego biznesowego, zna pojęcia związane z dziedziną zarządzania, ekonomii i komunikacji i posiada umiejętność wykorzystania tej wiedzy w pracy zawodowej tłumacza (również zespołowej) z zachowaniem zasad etycznych, posiada umiejętności wykorzystania najnowszych narzędzi technologicznych i informacyjnych, wspomagających warsztat pracy, posiada wiedzę z zakresu języka, kultury i literatury angielskojęzycznego obszaru językowego warunkującą efektywną komunikację w języku angielskim, dysponuje teoretyczną wiedzą na temat przekładu w odniesieniu do języka angielskiego oraz potrafi zastosować powyższą wiedzę w praktyce tłumaczeniowej (również w odniesieniu do tłumaczenia tekstów biznesowych), posługuje się drugim językiem obcym na poziomie biegłości B2 według Europejskiego Systemu Opisu Kształcenia Językowego Rady Europy.
Studenci specjalności język angielski w biznesie i zarządzaniu odbywają sześciomiesięczną praktykę w biurze tłumaczeń lub w firmie/instytucji o stałych kontaktach międzynarodowych. Praktyka ma na celu weryfikację wiedzy, umiejętności i kompetencji społecznych nabytych w trakcie studiów.
Absolwent specjalności język angielski w biznesie i zarządzaniu może podjąć pracę w charakterze specjalisty branży biznesowej, w instytucjach i przedsiębiorstwach opierających swoje funkcjonowanie na komunikacji w języku angielskim, w firmach lub instytucjach o stałych kontaktach międzynarodowych, w biurach tłumaczeń, w biurach podróży, w placówkach kulturalnych, jako korepetytor.
Lektor i tłumacz języka angielskiego
Specjalność ta przygotowuje przede wszystkim do pracy jako lektor języka angielskiego w szkołach językowych. Absolwent specjalności lektor i tłumacz języka angielskiego wykazuje się znajomością języka angielskiego zbliżoną do rodzimej (co najmniej C1 wg Europejskiego Systemu Opisu Kształcenia Językowego Rady Europy), drugiego języka obcego na poziomie B2 (wg ESOK) oraz posiada bogaty warsztat metodyczny. Posiada interdyscyplinarne kompetencje pozwalające na wykorzystanie wiedzy o języku i jego znajomości do przygotowywania i prowadzenia interesujących zajęć językowych.
Absolwent specjalności lektor i tłumacz języka angielskiego nabywa umiejętności:
językowe – przede wszystkim praktyczną znajomość języka angielskiego niezbędną do sprawnego komunikowania się w mowie i na piśmie na poziomie bliskim rodzimemu użytkownikowi,
metodyczne – konieczne do efektywnego nauczania języka angielskiego osób w różnym wieku (od najmłodszych do najstarszych uczących się) i pozwalające na skuteczne prowadzenie zajęć edukacyjnych, rozbudzanie zainteresowań poznawczych w przedmiocie oraz wspieranie rozwoju intelektualnego ucznia poprzez umiejętny dobór metod aktywizujących, technik nauczania, środków i pomocy dydaktycznych, a także umiejętność badania i oceny osiągnięć uczniów oraz własnej praktyki,
informacyjno-komunikacyjne w zakresie nauczania języka angielskiego w oparciu o nowoczesne technologie.
Specjalność lektor i tłumacz języka angielskiego przygotowuje do wykonywania zawodu lektora języka angielskiego. Przykładowe miejsca pracy absolwentów, to m.in. prywatne szkoły i przedszkola językowe oraz uniwersytety trzeciego wieku.
Studenci specjalności lektor i tłumacz języka angielskiego odbywają sześciomiesięczną praktykę, która realizowana jest równolegle z odpowiednimi modułami teoretycznymi. Podstawowym celem praktyki jest przygotowanie absolwenta do pracy w szkołach językowych.
Studia na specjalności lektor i tłumacz języka angielskiego trwają 6n semestrów. Zajęcia dydaktyczne obejmują wykłady, ćwiczenia, seminaria oraz lektoraty. Na program studiów składają się przedmioty kształcenia ogólnego, podstawowe, kierunkowe i specjalnościowe.
Formą rozliczenia poszczególnych przedmiotów jest egzamin, zaliczenie z oceną lub zaliczenie. Studia kończą się zdaniem egzaminu dyplomowego, do którego dopuszczenie uwarunkowane jest uzyskaniem pozytywnych ocen ze wszystkich przedmiotów objętych planem studiów, praktyki zawodowej i pracy dyplomowej. Absolwenci posiadają kompetencje do prowadzenia zajęć z języka angielskiego jako języka obcego.
SYLWETKA ABSOLWENTA
Absolwent kierunku filologia uzyskuje umiejętności z języka angielskiego na poziomie co najmniej C1 wg ESOKJ, a z języka obcego na poziomie B2. Umie posługiwać się językiem specjalistycznym, niezbędnym do wykonywania zawodu, posiada interdyscyplinarne kompetencje pozwalające na wykorzystanie wiedzy o języku i jego znajomości w różnorodnych dziedzinach nauki i życia społecznego oraz umiejętność ustawicznego samokształcenia. Absolwent kierunku filologia jest zatem przygotowany do pracy w instytucjach, w których wymagana jest umiejętność biegłego posługiwania się językiem angielskim.
Kompetencje absolwenta kierunku filologia wszystkich specjalności kierunku filologiasą bezpośrednią odpowiedzią na potrzeby środowiska społeczno-gospodarczego, ponieważ obecny rynek pracy w dużym stopniu opiera się na wzmożonych kontaktach międzynarodowych, które rozwijają się dzięki komunikacji w języku angielskim. W związku z powyższym na rynku pracy poszukiwani są specjaliści posługujący się biegle tym językiem i mogący podjąć pracę zarówno w edukacji jak i w sektorze gospodarczym. Zapotrzebowanie firm na pracowników z dobrą znajomością języka angielskiego (również specjalistycznego) popartą wiedzą z ekonomii, zarządzania i komunikacji wydaje się dobrze zaspakajać specjalność język angielski w biznesie i zarządzaniu. Natomiast wymogi rynku edukacyjnego zaspakajane są przez specjalność lektor i tłumacz języka angielskiego (absolwenci posiadają kwalifikacje do nauczania języka angielskiego szkołach językowych).
Program kształcenia opiera się na rozbudowanym, sześciomiesięcznym systemie praktyk oraz kładzie nacisk na rozwijanie umiejętności studentów w trakcie zajęć o charakterze warsztatowym.

Od kandydatów na I rok studiów wymagane są następujące dokumenty w języku polskim lub przetłumaczone na język polski przez tłumacza przysięgłego:
podanie o przyjęcie na I rok studiów na ustalonym formularzu,
kopia świadectwa dojrzałości poświadczona przez uczelnię lub notariusza,
kopia świadectwa ukończenia szkoły średniej/ponadgimnazjalnej poświadczona przez uczelnię,
aktualna fotografia zgodna z wymaganiami obowiązującymi przy wydawaniu dowodów osobistych oraz zamieszczenie zdjęcia w formie elektronicznej w systemie Internetowej Rekrutacji Kandydatów,
