Poland is a country located in the Central Europe, which makes it easy for students to travel around the EU after studies. The official name of our country is Republic of Poland. Poland has a widely developed bus and plane connections with the biggest cities. The main cities in Poland are: Warsaw (the capitol), Kraków, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Poznań and Łódź. The currency here in Polish Zloty, and 1 PLN = 0,24 EUR. The Polish climate is moderate continental, with relatively cold winters (from December to March) and hot summers which extend from June to August. January temperatures average -1°C (30°F) to -5°C (23°F). July and August average temperatures range from 16.5°C (62°F) to 19°C (65°F), though some days the temperature can reach even 35°C (95°F). Each Erasmus student is automatically assigned to our University’s Dormitory. (3 or 4-person rooms). No extra paperwork is required. The monthly costs of the Dormitory is around 100 EUR. Incoming visiting staff members are obliged to organize accommodation on their own.
Cost of livingPoland is believed to be one of the cheapest countries in Europe. The Erasmus Grant will fully cover the costs of living, especially in Piła. Students/staff from the European Union or European Economic Area are entitled to medical services on the basis of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). International students/staff from outside the European Union should have private insurance that covers emergency medical treatment.
