Sociolinguistics for translation purposes LNS-LTJ-SL>SOCJOT
The aim of the course is to prepare students to translate while taking the social context into account and applying principles derived from sociolinguistics. Students develop not only linguistic skills but also the social skills needed to translate texts between cultures, taking cultural and social differences into account. They learn methods for analysing social context, which help them better understand the content and intentions of the original author and convey them appropriately in translation.
