Learning objectives:
O1 Acquisition of knowledge by students, on the Basic concepts of public health, population health assessment, methods of action used by health care organizations in Poland and around the Word, assessment of the epidemiological situation of population.
O2 Acquisition of knowledge by students, on the elementary principles of marketing and management in field of public health (including quality management in health care in the field of food production).
O3 Familiarizing students with law regulations on official food control.
O4 Familiarizing students with the current insurance system in health care, the functioning of the National Health Fund, familiarizing with the patients’ rights, the duties of health professional, the role of National Labor Inspectorate of the State Sanitary Inspection, the current legal system.
O5 Discussion of new challenges in the field of public health, including aging society, addictions, infectious diseases.
O6 Getting to know the principle of health education and health promotion, including issues related to the relationship between food, nutrition and health.

Term 2025/2026-Z:
To provide students with knowledge in the areas of public health, epidemiology, health promotion, prevention, and the organization of the healthcare system. To prepare them to recognize and assess factors affecting individual and population health. To equip them with practical skills related to preventive measures, epidemiological safety, and environmental risk assessment. To develop pro-health attitudes, social awareness, and professional responsibility in public health protection. |
