Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Nursing II ERASMUS>PIE27
Practical classes are aimed at familiarizing students with the principles of planning care for patients in life-threatening conditions, hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit.
The specific objectives include:
1. Caring for immobilized patients who require assistance with all activities of daily living.
2. Methods of communication with the patient, including verbal and non-verbal contact.
3. Supervising and monitoring vital signs.
4.
Recording performed measurements in the observation chart.
5.
Providing care for patients with an artificial airway – endotracheal or tracheostomy tube.
6.
Maintaining airway patency, suctioning.
7.
Performing patient hygiene.
8.
Implementing pressure ulcer prevention strategies, repositioning, and using supportive aids.
9. Feeding the patient via a nasogastric tube or gastrostomy.
10. Preparing and administering medications in accordance with the individual medical prescription chart.
11. Observing patients' rights, especially respecting their dignity and privacy.
Classes take place in the Intensive Care and Anesthesiology Unit at the Specialist Hospital in Piła.
Students must wear standard protective clothing and footwear required for hospital ward activities. An ID badge is mandatory.
Additional insurance is not required.
