Health care and education in pain management ERASMUS>PIE09
This course addresses the description of disease entities associated with pain management and care planning for this population.
Learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE – A STUDENT KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS:
1. methods for assessing pain in various clinical situations and pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods for its treatment
SKILLS – A STUDENT IS ABLE TO:
1. assess pain intensity according to scales taking into account the patient's age and clinical condition,
2. select and apply pharmacological pain treatment methods and apply non-pharmacological pain treatment methods depending on patient's clinical condition
3. monitor the effectiveness of analgesic treatment
4. educate patients on self-control and self-care in pain therapy.
SOCIAL SKILLS – A STUDENT IS READY TO:
1. resolve complex ethical issues related to the nursing profession and identify priorities for specific tasks,
2. be responsible for the health care services provided
