Neurology and Neurological Nursing I ERASMUS>PIE04
The Neurology and Neurological Nursing course focuses mainly on describing neurological diseases and on planning and providing nursing care for patients with neurological conditions.
During the course, the student will learn about the pathophysiology, symptoms, progression, and treatment of neurological diseases. Additionally, the student will be able to recognize complications of neurological illnesses as well as complications related to drug treatment, diet, rehabilitation, and nursing care.
During the course, the student will have the opportunity, under supervision, to assist a doctor during diagnostic procedures. The student will also learn how to recognize and prevent possible complications that may result from these procedures and tests. Under supervision, the student will be able to prepare and administer medications in different ways, according to the doctor’s instructions.
The course will take place in the Neurology Department with the Stroke Treatment Unit at the Specialist Hospital in Piła. Students are required to wear a medical uniform (scrub top and pants), clean medical or sports shoes, and an ID badge during classes.
