Objectives and assumptions of the course:
1. Acquainting the student with the specificity of care for the mentally ill.
2. Cultivating skills in the field of caring for the mentally ill and his family.
3. Developing the ability to cooperate with a doctor - psychiatrist in the care of the mentally ill.
4. Obtaining by the student the knowledge necessary to perform professional tasks in the field of psychiatry and psychiatric nursing.
5. Preparing the student to use the acquired knowledge in professional practice, professional planning of nursing care, acquiring the skills of proper communication with a mentally ill person, recognizing their needs and using elementary psychotherapy.
6. Preparing the student to provide advice to mentally ill patients in the field of prevention and self/care.
