COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course and confirmation of achieving the intended learning outcomes, the student:
1. Can communicate with the social environment, effectively selecting techniques and communication channels. Can define the concepts of negotiation and mediation, and identify the differences between them. Can recognize the characteristics of mediators and negotiators.
2. Classifies, organizes, and applies methods and techniques enabling effective verbal (spoken and written) and non-verbal communication in various professional and private situations, including conflict situations — and can apply them in pedagogical practice.
3. Can use negotiation and mediation strategies and techniques; can utilize persuasive messages and assertively defend against manipulation. Selects and presents arguments convincingly, drawing on pedagogical knowledge. Observes ethical principles of discourse.
4. Draws conclusions, presents arguments, and consciously uses non-verbal communication, skillfully employing elements of verbal communication.
5. Exercises caution and critical thinking in expressing opinions, and uses specialized knowledge responsibly to organize mediation and negotiation activities within pedagogical practice. Can appropriately select negotiation methods and tactics.

1. Conflict as a background for negotiation: styles, tactics, and negotiation techniques.
2. Psychosocial competencies of a good negotiator and mediator.
3. Mediation and negotiation — case studies.
4. How to prepare for negotiations.
