COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course and confirmation of achieving the intended learning outcomes, the student:
1. Knows and understands the diversity of models for supporting child or pupil development, including behavioral, constructivist, and emancipatory models; the objectives of preschool and early school education in supporting the development of the child or pupil; the process of adaptation of the child in preschool and the pupil in school; strategies for stimulating cognitive activity; principles of using play to stimulate development; and the role of initiation in reading, theater, music, art, and technical activities.
2. Is able to create a safe and friendly educational environment for children's development, taking into account their individual needs, abilities, and talents, focusing on personal and subjective development.
3. Is able to organize play and activities that stimulate children’s or pupils’ cognitive activity; foster communal and cooperative learning; engage all children emotionally, motivationally, and cognitively; support their adaptation to learning within a group; identify spontaneous behaviors as educational opportunities; and utilize them in the education process.
4. Can identify and foster children's or pupils’ interests and talents; adjust teaching methods and content to their capacities; and develop their curiosity, activity, cognitive independence, and creative approach to tasks.
5. Is ready to act with ethical sensitivity, empathy, openness, and critical thinking, and to take responsibility for the holistic development of children or pupils and for undertaken pedagogical actions.
6. Is ready to build relationships of mutual trust among all parties involved in the upbringing and education process, including parents or guardians, and to involve them in actions that enhance educational effectiveness.
7. Is ready to collaborate effectively with teachers, educators, specialists (including psychologists, speech therapists, pedagogues, doctors), parents, and other members of the preschool, school, and local communities to support children or pupils and ensure the quality of preschool or school work.

1. Characteristics of child development support. Selected concepts of supporting child development. Effective cooperation among participants involved in the child development process.
2. Determinants of actions aimed at supporting child development.
3. Supporting the child in acquiring basic competencies (developmental tasks typical of childhood).
4. Configuration of "developmental risk" factors – ways to counteract irregularities.
5. Supporting the child and their family in the processes of care and education.
Self-study:
