COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course and confirmation of achieving the intended learning outcomes, the student:
1. Understands the essence of contemporary philosophical and logical problems and knows how they are justified.
2. Understands, at an advanced level, the significance of particular philosophical ideas and logical axioms, and knows how they are justified in relation to contemporary social changes.
3. Is able to apply acquired philosophical and logical knowledge to formulate and solve complex and uncommon social problems.
4. Is prepared to critically assess and responsibly carry out tasks related to their current profession and social role.
CURRICULUM CONTENT REFERENCED TO LEARNING OUTCOMES
Lecture:
1. What is philosophy? Definition of philosophy, its subject matter, and sources of knowledge. Functions and tasks of philosophy. Greek philosophy as Western philosophy. Ancient Eastern philosophies. The origin of philosophy in time and place; periods, schools, and representatives of ancient philosophy. Medieval philosophy – periods, schools, and representatives. Modern philosophy – periods, schools, and representatives.
2. Theory of being (metaphysics, ontology) – characteristics of the discipline and its main problems. Theory of knowledge (epistemology, gnoseology) – characteristics of the discipline and its main problems. Philosophical anthropology – characteristics of the discipline and its main problems. Philosophy of values (axiology) – characteristics of the discipline and its main problems.
3. Ethics – characteristics of the discipline and its main problems. Aesthetics – characteristics of the discipline and its main problems. Social philosophy – philosophy of history, political philosophy, social philosophy – characteristics of the discipline and its main problems.
