COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course and confirmation of achieving the intended learning outcomes, the student:
1. Knows and describes the main directions and trends of contemporary psychology. Possesses in-depth and extended knowledge of the biological, psychological, and social foundations of human functioning. Defines basic concepts related to cognitive processes and identifies key relationships and interdependencies between them.
2. Can clearly share their knowledge, convey it to others, and demonstrate how it can be used to understand human functioning and support those in their care.
3. Effectively collaborates with other professionals to acquire and update substantive knowledge. Is active in working with others on joint initiatives, applying acquired knowledge and supporting the results of other specialists' work.
COURSE CONTENT RELATED TO LEARNING OUTCOMES
Lecture
1. The subject of psychology; branches of theoretical psychology; tasks of practicing and research psychologists; challenges facing the field of psychology.
2. Biological and psychoanalytic approaches in psychology – theories, understanding of behavior, and therapeutic approaches.
3. Behavioral and cognitive approaches in psychology – fundamental theories, perspectives on behavior, therapeutic methods, and concepts of health.
4. Neobehaviorism and neopsychoanalysis in explaining human behavior – expanding the view of the human being.
5. Humanistic-existential approach – key theories, perspectives on behavior and health, and therapeutic practices.
Self-Education
