COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course and confirmation of the intended learning outcomes, the student:
1. Knows and understands cultural, anthropological, axiological, and sociological descriptions of cyberspace as one of the realms of contemporary childhood existence; the functions of information technology education in the lives of societies and individuals; the types and roles of ideologies in social life and in shaping cyberspace; the description, characteristics, specificity, social placement, opportunities, and developmental barriers of various social groups in the context of access to cyberspace or digital exclusion; and elements of the sociology of education including social benefits and losses from life in the digital world.
2. Is able to use their theoretical and practical knowledge in a reflective and critical way when navigating cyberspace and addressing threats resulting from the use of cyber media.
3. Can interpret the role of teachers’ activities in the context of using information technologies, present their own ideas, doubts, and suggestions supported by extensive theoretical knowledge about the use of cyberspace in the educational and upbringing process in order to build children’s and pupils’ awareness and competence.
