COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course and confirmation of achieving the intended learning outcomes, the student:
1. Knows the essence of professional ethics/ethics of the teaching profession and the basic terminology related to teacher ethics.
2. Possesses elementary knowledge in the field of human moral life and the dilemmas arising in didactic and educational work.
3. Understands basic methods for analyzing moral problems in a teacher’s work.
4. Independently seeks optimal solutions that are in accordance with ethical principles.
5. Effectively uses ethical discourse.
6. Demonstrates the ability to construct substantive arguments in the field of moral theory and norms applied to didactic and educational work.
7. Is ready to apply ethical standards in professional activities, guided by respect for human dignity.
COURSE CONTENT RELATED TO LEARNING OUTCOMES
Lecture
1. Professional ethics: fundamental principles of professional ethics, selected issues in the development of professional ethical codes.
2. Ethos, personal role model, and the integration of values: dignity, responsibility, tolerance, privacy, justice, human solidarity, love for one's neighbor, social order, effectiveness of action, diligence, honesty, self-improvement and professional development, loyalty, hierarchy of values.
3. Human action and its structure in relation to moral and professional norms.
4. Moral obligations arising from professional practice across various professions.
5. The work of a teacher and educator in the context of natural human life circles and the moral dilemmas that occur within them.
Self-Education
1. Preparation for classes (studying literature)
