COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course and confirmation of achieving the intended learning outcomes, the student:
1. Knows and understands the processes related to upbringing and educating children and pupils, with particular emphasis on early, middle, and late childhood, from an interdisciplinary perspective: psychological, pedagogical, axiological, and sociological.
2. Knows and understands concepts of the child and childhood (Childhood Studies) and their cultural and social conditions; interdisciplinary issues concerning child well-being; methodological perspectives in research on children and childhood, as well as ethical requirements in research involving children.
3. Is able to recognize and identify parenting styles in educational practice, indicating their valuable features and potential threats to the child’s or pupil’s subjectivity.
4. Reflects, including critically assesses, their level of knowledge and skills in preschool and early childhood education, and demonstrates the ability to learn and improve their own pedagogical practice in preschool education.

Lecture
1. Changes in the model of the child and childhood, ideas and styles of upbringing, educational practices.
2. Various narratives of childhood.
3. The social dimension of childhood.
4. The family in postmodernity and the child’s situation in the context of childhood quality.
5. Violence against children – identifying the phenomenon and standards of conduct.
