Aims of the course:
1. Getting acquainted with the friction processes.
2. Getting acquainted with the lubrication processes.
3. Getting acquainted with the wear processes of machines.
KNOWLEDGE – A STUDENT KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS:
1. Breakdown of consumables.
2. Properties of consumables.
3. Basic concepts of tribology.
4. Construction of surface layer.
5. The basics of the friction proces.
SKILLS – A STUDENT IS ABLE TO:
1. Determine the density of oils.
2. Determine flash and fire points for oils.
3. Determine the dynamic viscosity.
4. Determine the static viscosity.
5. Determine the viscosity index.
SOCIAL SKILLS:
1. The Student is able to work as a team.
2. The Student is able to work independently.
3. The Student is creative in carrying out laboratory exercises.
4. The Student follows the safety rules when performing laboratory exercises.
