SUBJECT LEARNING OUTCOMES.
After completing the course and confirming the achievement of the assumed learning outcomes, the student:
- Knows the basic units of skin diseases involving hair in the scope necessary for a cosmetologist.
- Knows cosmetic preparations and their proper use in hair removal procedures.
- Knows the indications and contraindications for hair removal procedures.
- Knows permanent and temporary methods of removing unwanted hair.
- Discusses the rules of hygiene and occupational safety during hair removal.
- Is able to perform the hair removal procedure correctly, taking into account the indications and contraindications.
- Is able to use specialized equipment when performing hair removal procedures, taking into account the principles of health and safety, methodology, indications and contraindications.
- Is able to explain to the client the choice of hair removal method suitable for their beauty needs.
- Is able to provide advice on the use of cosmetics to improve the appearance of the skin.
- Can properly conduct a cosmetic interview and complete the client chart.
- Is aware of the limitations of his/her own knowledge and knows when to consult experts.
- Is willing to be respectful and provide the client with full mental and physical comfort during hair removal procedures.
PROGRAM CONTENT RELATED TO LEARNING OUTCOMES (including self-study).
Lecture:
1. Hirsutism, hypertrichosis: definitions, pathogenesis, predisposing factors.
2. Temporary methods of excessive hair removal. Wax types.
3. Permanent methods of excessive hair removal.
4. IPL - intense pulsed light.
5. Laser therapy in use of body hair removal.
Laboratory:
1. Presentation of the regulations, health and safety rules of the skincare cosmetology laboratory.
2. Shaping eyebrows with hot and cold wax.
3. Wax depilation of moustache, sideburns and the bikini area.
4. Wax depilation of forearms, legs, calves.
5. Sugar paste: treatment procedure.
6. IPL - use in body hair removal.
7. IPL - use in anti-aging, anti-acne treatments, vascular lesions, hyperpigmentation.
