Fundamentals of toxicology ERASMUS>KOS03
SUBJECT LEARNING OUTCOMES.
After completing the course and confirming the achievement of the assumed learning outcomes, the student:
- Knows the effects of xenobiotics on the living organism, basic toxicological concepts, factors affecting the toxicity of xenobiotics and possible interactions between xenobiotics.
- Has knowledge about the pathways of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of xenobiotics.
- Knows environmental factors and pollutants that may affect human health, as well as methods of determining their toxicological parameters.
- Has knowledge of the requirements for cosmetic products in terms of their safety.
- Is able to use various sources of information regarding the safety or potential harmful effects of chemicals, including cosmetic preparations and their ingredients.
- Performs calculations related to selected parameters characterizing the toxicity and harmfulness of chemicals, taking into account substances used in cosmetology.
- Is aware of the risks associated with the use of various chemicals, including those present in cosmetic preparations.
