Mathematics ERASMUS>EKO25
The subject is to familiarize the student with the elements of higher mathematics in the field of linear algebra and mathematical analysis (multivariable function) and to present the application of the acquired theoretical knowledge to the formulation and solving of mathematical tasks as well as some economic problems.
Content discussed in the lecture
1. Linear algebra problems:
- linear space, isomorphism of linear spaces, base of space,
- matrix calculus,
- determinants,
- systems of linear equations,
- eigenvalues and vectors,
- square forms.
2. Selected problems from mathematical analysis for functions of several variables:
- basic concepts (indifference curves, limits),
- derivatives (directional derivative, partial derivatives, higher order derivatives),
- total differential, function gradient, homogeneous functions,
- implicit functions (derivative of the implicit function),
- local and conditional extremes,
- multivariable function in economics (partial derivative economic interpretation, partial elasticity, Cobb-Douglas production function).
